Protocol For Dyno Testing --- Evolution Racing

The vehicle's engine is brought up or down to normal operating temperature. If the vehicle is equipped with gauges they are checked To see if the coolant temperature, oil pressure,amps etc. are within normal parameters.If it is not equipped with Gauges a scanner is used to check for potential problems. If a problem is detected a full diagnostic is perfromed to determine the source. The air filter is checked while the dyno sensors are being Connected.Then a quick sensor check is performed. The engine is run up to the red line to establish the baseline Horsepower and torque.A second run up to the red line is Performed to verify the first. FEROX is added to the fuel supply at the recommed ratio and the engine is run for approximately 15 minutes to allow the fuel mixture to reach the combustion chamber. Next the negative battery cable is disconnected to force the onboard computer to read the sensors and adjust the injector pulse width , timing and turbochrtger after the cable is reconnected.. Once the cable is reconnected and the temperature and other gauges are checked again and if all show to be in the normal operating range the engine is run up to the red line. During the first run after the cable is reconnected the ECM / ECU / PCM continues to adjust for the new fuel mixture so a second run is performed immediately after the first.A third run is performed to verify the results of the second run.
